New Order is still together (minus Gillian).  I don't think they've toured the states lately but were doing the festivals in the UK last year promoting the Get Ready album.  I think they're working on a new album now.

The Stone Roses and The Smiths would be the bands I'd like to see reformed.
I agree, I'd go see PIL before the pistols at this point.

How about the original Waterboys line up?

i'd go to a sex pistols & smiths show just to see the fury created when the smiths fans bumrush the stage with their flowers for morrissey.

the orginial waterboys good, but don't see the fit.

the stone roses great, but again not a good fit with all those sid vicious t-shirt wearing sex pistols fans.  i think those of us who hear the sex pistols first, stone roses second while growing up would enjoy the pairing.  the younger set who idolize sid aren't going to appreciate stone roses.

I think the topic changed direction slightly to bands we'd like to see do a reunion gig, not who would support the pistols.

Siouxsie & The Banshees just put out a live cd over here called The Seven Year Itch - Live.  It was recorded last year at the London Shepherd's Bush Empire.  So I guess there would always be the chance to see them supporting the Pistols.  Naaaaah!  I'd expect Blink 182.

..and the Blink 182 fans would be thinking "who the hell are these" when the pistols walked on stage.

I don't think so.  I saw Stiff Little Fingers in DC well past their prime and the show was full of kids who knew all of the lyrics.  I think the kids are more excepting of the old music than us old f*cks are of their music.  Well, not all of us.

Did I word that right?  I mean that the a lot of the kids don't discriminate as much.  If they like punk rock, they'll like Rancid, Greenday, etc. but also know the old punk bands and their music.

I believe the word is "accepting", not "excepting".   :)

Apparently, you haven't met Markie, aka Andrew WK, yet.
