@jstrevino I'd like to think God let Havel and Hitchens pick the third.

Helen Frankenthaler (Abstract Artist)

Had the pleasure of meeting her while I was in Art school. RIP, Helen. She had a beautiful use of color which had a bit of an influence on my work.

Now this one really surprised me as I had assumed that we lost him many, many years ago:

Cheetah the chimp from 1930s Tarzan flicks dies

Now this one really surprised me as I had assumed that we lost him many, many years ago:

Cheetah the chimp from 1930s Tarzan flicks dies

From CNN:

The chimpanzee died Saturday after suffering kidney failure the week before, the sanctuary foundation said on the site. He was roughly 80 years old, Debbie Cobb, the sanctuary's outreach director, told CNN affiliate WFLA.

Cobb recalled Cheetah as an outgoing chimp who loved finger painting and watching football and who was soothed by Christian music, the station said.

My father- Ira-passed away 12/26/11... Many fond memories to cherish from over the years, especially the musical ones- i. e. Bob Marley and the Wailers at the Lenox, Ma music shed,  Patti Smith
reading poetry and doing a sound check , Dexter Gordon steadying himself on a mic stand-too drunk to stand on his own and Charles Mingus playing from a wheelchair in his last days, all at a small club in Woodstock, NY

All of which I had the pleasure of experiencing with him, due to his kindness and generosity

RIP
