A REAL American Idol.  I clearly remember watching this unfold. And unlike the nut jobs who have nothing better to do then to create their own 15 minutes, I fully believe that we did send this guy (and 11 others) to walk on the moon.  The courage it took to step out of the LEM onto the surface of the moon was great.  Rest well sir.  You certainly earned it.

While I hate to speculate, Vance had some serious drug problems. I used to see him panhandling outside Foggy Bottom metro. Tremendously nice guy. I'm hoping it was something other than heroin that killed him.
