When I was at a Dawes show they said that a rock legend died and they would be doing a bunch of his songs tonight and then they broke into "After Midnight" and I thought Eric Clapton died.  Turns out it was JJ Cale wrote that song.  Did Eric Clapton write any of his own hits.  As "Cocaine" was by jj cale as well.

Wow - saw him a few years back at the Clifford Brown jazz fest in Wilmington DE (a great all-free fest).
Totally engaging and flowing with love for the appreciative crowd - some of the most mind-boggling, out-there, virtuoso yet accessible jazz that I've ever heard.
