Some may have known him on here. Chris Grier. Not sure if Snailhook still checks this board but they were close and had a band for a while. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqyE5K5LXAM My condolences, Snailhook. :(

Another gone entirely too young.

Noise Against Fascism remains one of my favorite Black Cat shows, and I saw Chris in a ton of projects over the years.  RIP.

Tommy Ramone
http://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/jul/12/tommy-ramone-dies-aged-65

yeah i woke up to this bummer of news...

tommy was of course scheduled to play at jammin java with glen matlock about two years ago but pulled out due to health..it was going to be bluegrass from what i understood

sidehatch still has my copy of please kill me.. remind me never to lend him a book again...its been like two or three years.. i think he thinks it belongs to him now due to statute of limitations or something..:)... anyways, in the book there is a great oral history of NYC music and punk and i guess what emerges is that Tommy was their first "manager" or something? and then when joey stepped out from behind the drum kit to sing tommy was enlisted to play the drums... obviously he only -as far as i know- played on their first four albums (I dont' think he's on end of the century..too lazy to check).....which are the canonical ramones..

anyways rip Tommy..

he also I think produced the Replacements Let it Be... probably a lot of other stuff I'm not remembering..

Lorin Maazel
Wow, he's practically a local - his concert venue in Castleton is like a miniature Wolf Trap (in the best way) - wonder what will become of that?  Witnessed him conducting a concert version of Porgy and Bess a few years back - terrific.

Got Haggis?
