(I suspect James Ford and his family have no idea)
I would give only 70% odds (35% for the daughter) they know who The Monkees are and am only willing to go as high as 93% that they can identify an actual monkey from a photo.

Everyone my age knows the Monkees. Nobody my kid's age knows the Monkees.

No but I suspect there are at least a couple people, even on a dumb music message board for jerks, who would see "Peter Tork" and wonder who that was.

More information in this thread is better than less. Don't let them bust your balls, big guy.

Really...you don't think 95% of the people here know who Peter Tork is (I suspect James Ford and his family have no idea)
can anyone who never heard of Peter Tork, please comment here ;)
Did not know who he was until the headlines said he passed.

I checked and checked but didn't see anything listed afterwards. I'm not 30 yet and I still was too tired to stay after after 3. I assume it was a DJ. Ty and White Fence were really good but had a short set. Tim Hecker is always my go-to since he doesn't play DC.

Generational divide.

Man, I was so hoping you were referring to the disgraced, former Michigan State Athletic Director but it appears you mean the Talk Talk guy.

I had no idea Mark Hollis/Talk Talkwas such a musicianís musician, I always enjoyed listening to material, just had no idea they were also influential.  I guess if one is going to totally leave the music business, leave a very solid back catalogue

Same here. They played a nice tribute to him on KEXP this morning. Definitely made me appreciate them more, even though I was only half listening at work.
