Phil Spector was nuts... but man if he isn’t the link between the 50s and 70s music.. he just revolutionized the sound of music but boy if he didn’t burn out quick..mental illness will limit you

Whenever I read music books lately he comes up.. the Leonard Cohen bio has a great description of him...the Ahmet Ertegun bio I am finishing up had an entire chapter devoted to Ahmet’s relationship with Spector

The Philles record label’s Christmas album is the sound of Christmas to me (if you think you don’t know it...well..you do)..always will be... too bad it has Phil’s spoken word message at end.. I can’t bear to listen to it knowing that he killed a woman and what an asshole he was

Died Dec 20th  .... no cause yet listed...
days earlier had posted a photo of himself smiling and giving the peace sign in bed, writing, “Good news y’all! I’m feeling all better, just a wee bit sluggish from my cold, but the good news is I’m Covid 19 negative! Woo hoo!”

Remember Sutton well. That's what I get for being old.
