Schlager is basically melodic sentimental pop, often set to well-known classical tunes. Eric Carmen's "All By Myself" and "Never Gonna Fall In Love Again" are perfect examples having been set to Rachmaninoff's second movement of his Piano Concerto No. 2 and third movement of Symphony No. 2 respectively.

There are some schlager-like tunes on The Raspberries albums as well. I figured they wanted to have a few tunes that their parents would enjoy.
