Thanks a lot.  While you're singing Live all day, I'll be humming this ditty:

If you could only see the way she loves me
 Then maybe you would understand
Why I feel this way about or love
 And what I must do
If you could only see how blue her eyes can be when she says
When she says she loves me

Anyone read the stephen king story about an old man who can't accept growing old so brings back to life the dead mummified corpses of a british sixties rock band to sing along with to their songs that are all now beer commercials?
oh wait, its not a short story, its the rolling stones 2007 european tour.

Maybe it would be easier for everyone if you compiled us a list of bands we're allowed to choose from when naming our own personal choice for worst band ever.

Maybe it's the definition you're struggling with:

 WORST:

The farthest from the best. The most horrible. The pits. To have nothing good.

 BAND:

A group of people who come together to play music.

 EVER:

At all times; all the time and on every occasion.

Now, be honest with yourself and tell me that the majority of the bands listed fit that description.  This is not a thread about the band least deserving of it's accolades, this thread is about the WORST BAND EVER.  Hence, the dumbfoundedness.  Personal opinions are one thing, but this is done primarily for shock value.  You yourself said that you hate U2 but under no circumstances could they be the worst band ever.  The Dead, the Doors, Zep, etc are in the same boat - you may not like them, but they can't be anywhere near the worst band ever. I'm with BookerT, if for nothing else than the lyric  "Her placenta falls to the floor."

Oh, HELL no!  There is nothing wrong with a little good-time party rock every now and then and KISS brought that in spades.  Their live show was an amazing spectacle that most folks here would probably never lower themselves to experience.  In their prime, they did it bigger and better than anyone.

 KISS fucking rules.

Yeah.  They meet every pre-requisite listed.  I dare someone to debate this one . . . .

The "Monsters of Rock - Platinum Edition" commercial  I just saw reminded me of a whole swath of bands that clearly need to be put out there.  I submit Warrant, Trixter, and Winger.

i say that KISS can be comfortably placed at either extreme... they embody, at the same, the best and the worse of rock'n'roll.  by that virtue alone they aren't the worse band ever, since they have redeeming qualities.

It takes exponentially more "bad" later in the career to overcome the early career highs.  (Kiss clause 2).

P.S.  Another criteria?:  Being pwned by Stephen Malkmus in a Pavement song (Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots.)
That's an interesting way to put it.  Along those same lines I'll say that Pink Floyd's Meddle - and now that you mention it, Crooked Rain Crooked Rain - are EACH worse than sex and skiing COMBINED.  Of course, they're still some of the better things ever.

Its interesting that Pavement destroyed the Smashing Pumpkins, but they kind of let STP off easy.  I mean, there's nothing really bad about being a foxy elegant bachelor in the grand scheme.
