Thank you, Sonick. Rhett, take your example -- there are, say, six shows a week at the club. That means all the Americana bands coming up constitute one week out of 2.5 months worth of shows announced. Not much, and I've heard several of them discussed here -- by someone besides yourself.
Yes, the 9:30 Club is very diverse (or I'd be there 4 times a week every week, not just this week...). However, in terms of indie/alternative/WOXY, that's certainly a mainstay genre represented. Going back historically, as well. If the Black Cat had a board, I'm sure a lot of us would post there as well.
I just don't get it. If you think the board is skewed, why not stay with your Robbie Fulks brethren?

Not true. Take a look at the current 9:30 Club schedule. Old 97's, Drive By Truckers, Mindy Smith, the Cramps (if you stretch the definition of Americana), and an as yet unannounced show by Del McCoury Band with Donna the Buffalo are all on the schedule.
but a quick look at the show list now,
WOXY band shows like...
Siouxsie, Snow Patrol, The Killers, The Black Keys, Libertines, Walkmen, Sam Roberts, Flogging Molly, Keane, French Kicks, Ambulance, Supergrass, Hope of the States, Coheed and Cambria, Radio 4, Minstry, Helmet and Blonde Redhead (with unannounced Death Cab, Muse, PJ Harvey, Deftones, and Interpol shows) significantly outnumber the 4 or 5 Americana bands you have listed. 2 of which being bands WOXY plays anyway (old 97s and DBT)
and the Cramps, I dont call Americana. [/b]
