Aren't you guys doing this a bit early? It's November 30. Aren't you expecting Santa to bring any 2005 albums you haven't heard/bought?

Yeah, it was September 2004 for the US. Didn't realize you were in Germany...

As noted by Brennser several records this year that represent efforts not considered the best work by some favorite artists.  I call it the XTC effect... I was a bit disappointed by new XTC records in the past because they were never quite as good as previous efforts, but often a listen to those records a few years later and one realizes it a very worthy record and quickly becomes a favorite.

because i'm entirely to lazy at the moment to post links, checkout my myspace page to hear clips from  many of listed acts.  http://www.myspace.com/kosmovinyl

Honorable mentions, and favorite reissues under developement...

Couple thoughts... not a banner year from my perspective, but... My favs were Franz and Bloc Party.  I was never a big fan of Franz's first effort, but this one sticks with me.  Another worth mentioning is Death Cab.  This album goes down really smooth...just a very relaxing ear candy album.... outside of that, my wife had our second kid, so haven't had time to hear a whole lot this year.

The original list in this thread is most stereotypical indie group of albums I've ever seen in my life.

But in the later 80's and early 90's, I discovered all the great records released at that time...Husker Du, the Replacements, the Minutemen, etc.
Holy crap, we had the same musical trajectory pretty much during the same years, but I was in HIGH SCHOOL and COLLEGE during that time.  I cannot imagine being 9, listening to the Police and the Cars and then 'progressing' to British alternative at 10.   ;)   Amazing, bearman.
