I don't see Chesa surviving this recall.
It's not so much that he went too far too fast, though that can be argued, it's that he lost the narrative on crime in SF and did nothing to dispel the notion that it's all his fault. A bit of his arrogant stance did him in. He came out of the gate instituting immediate reforms, in particular around gangs, and when the organized gangs started busting windows and robbing larger stores as a result, he talked a big game, but the results didn't back him up. It's not the end of the reform movement, it's just that even in SF, everything has to happen in moderation. Especially when people in SF are upset about being the butt of everyone's jokes.
