But I really wanted a cross check, but I couldnt find one cheap. They have overlapping utility, but the cross check fits bigger tyres and is good for some lighter off-roading. Ideal for the C&O canal.

Than langster has no tyre clearance and is really a dedicated fast  fixed gear road bike.

As the cross-check can do everything the langster can and more, really the langster should go. But the cross check might prove to a be a bit small for me.

 I guess I like bikes.
to me that read as

wah wah wah bah wah bah wah bah wah bike

 I guess I like bikes

LOLOLOL

I had been wondering how long it would take for some kind of wanking arm comment to come along.

 Well put!

long story that doesn't need to be posted publicly, but it ends with: i broke my fifth metacarpal when my hand and a car door attempted to share the same space.

i can't be left handed either.  i'm no good at it.  luckilly, i'm in a half cast and can take it off and use my right hand gently when it isn't hurting.

*raises eybrows-closes eyes and tightens lips in that sympathetic, knowing biker way*

Just in time for the nicer bike weather too. Sorry for your pain mate.

Did the missus give the old "isn't it time you grew up and stopped riding bikes like you're a little boy" lecture?????

 .
A liekely story.... That injury is famous:  ;)

Your story sounds much more interesting than mine.

Well I got bored of my sling yesterday. I decided from reading around that early mobilisation is better than letting all the muscles atrophy. So I will be back playing halo. YAY!

Actually she has been pretty sympathetic, which is unusula for her.

My parents gave me that lecture though. They didnt sound too happy when I told them that I used the money that they put into my account for my birthday to buy another bike....

Dang.  I face that problem, too, with three bikes living in an apt the size of a postage stamp.  But they're my babies, and I can't, just can't, let 'em go.

I have to say I LOVE my steamroller.  I'm so glad I built it.  I live on the thing, really, leaving my poor beater bike a bit forlorn.  Oh, well.

Ooooh, while we're comparing cycling injuries. See the thumb, well follow it down to those two little bones in the wrist, I broke one of those and chipped a bit off the big fecker that is touching them and goes up the forearm.

 Evidently, when you fall off your bike, the most common injury is;
 a) broken collar bone, or
 b)dislocated shoulder.
The reason for this is the injury will happen at the weakest point and cyclist are usually of slight build so the shoulder area gets it. I'm rather broad-shouldered and "muscley" up there, so my wrist got the worst of it. Markie, as I remember, is no whimp across the shoulders either, and likes a good wank on a regular basis so his wrists are quite strong......the shoulder dislocating would indeed have been the weakest point.

So, you're saying that you're limp-wristed?

What is the difference between a separated shoulder, a dislocated shoulder, and a broken shoulder?

# Dislocation - The shoulder joint is the most frequently dislocated major joint of the body -- often caused by a significant force that separates the shoulder joint's ball (the top rounded portion of the upper arm bone, or humerus) away from the joint's socket (glenoid).
 # Separation - The shoulder becomes separated when the ligaments attached to the collarbone (clavicle) are torn or partially torn away from the shoulder blade (scapula). Shoulder separation may be caused by a sudden, forceful blow to the shoulder or as a result of a fall.
#Fracture - a partial or total crack or break through a bone that usually occurs due to a impact injury.

[/QB][/quote]I didn't mean it like that and you know it......I meant relative to your 'typical' cyclist's physique.

I knew those most predictable would come up with the 'limp wrist' comment, but manly enough enough to take it.
