this looks intriguing

Dope, Hookers and Pavement: The Real and Imagined History of Detroit Hardcore

https://www.detroithardcoremovie.com/

https://youtu.be/-e3X4OYAg-I

and by law any documentary about hardcore has to include an interview with Ian MacKaye

https://www.brooklynvegan.com/detroit-hardcore-doc-out-now-ft-members-of-negative-approach-meatmen-minor-threat-more/

and while I was in the area at the time, i was definitely on the periphery of this scene.. bought some 7" singles at the time which are probably worth a fortune at this point, but didn't seen many of the shows..

as a follow-up i went to high school with John Bannon of Negative Approach, he would have fallen in the Freaks category then and I remember him doing Alice Cooper covers at a battle of the bands...

Better him than Rollins. Or Grohl.

I really should watch this. I (unfairly) think of that scene as nothing but skinheads.  Not true.

I regret not going to see him at the Howard shortly before he died

He really fit the Stones perfectly... gave them exactly what they needed...that classic Texas honker saxophone sound

Kind of like King Curtis did for Sam Cooke and Aretha

Went to see, Psycho Gorman, on the big screen.

Dorky, funny, gross, annoying, good times.
