It was really crazy down in front. That was the best show I've seen from them, and that's saying something! Loved every minute!
Oh and they added Vagabond to the setlist at the last minute.

I thought it was VERY solid...they'll just continue to get bigger if they play their cards right. There's a demand for music like this, especially for anyone who missed out 70's rock.

My wife couldn't believe that you boardies are falling for this band.

But then again, some of you like Foo Fighters.  ;)

Was it the best show I've ever seen? No, but for 15 bucks to see a band put their heart and soul into their music (even if it is derivative) is a heck of a lot more entertaining than staring at TV or computer screen. Some of us went, had a great time, saw our friends and had a couple of beers with them. Those of us who were a bit skeptical were pleasantly surprised.

I also thought Wolfmother were great.

If I had a dollar for every Zeppelin shirt I saw last night.....well.....then, I'd have 5 or 6 dollars.

It was funny to see so many devils horns and episodic head banging from the usual Washington crowd.  Clearly the rock is back.  The dudes in front of me were even playing air guitar when they weren't clinking their beer bottles and wooting. You can't play air guitar to Death Cab.

i totally agree with bearman and playing spot the influence is half the fun for a band like wolfmother... a little who, a lotta zep, elp, cream, etc...

My bad -- I saw it on the wall in the club a couple weeks ago and loved it, but forgot the website listed on the botton.  when I got there at 10:00, bitch was sold out!!!!!!
He's now selling them for $50 on his website.

He also said one guy bought a whole bunch from him and they'll probably show up on eBay at the end of the week.

Thanks GGW...that ebay shit pisses me off.  I'd love one for $20, but not $50.  I have too many good posters already...

Death Cab is so last month when it comes to MTV airplay. Let's get a pool going as to when these guys will make their O.C. debut.

I don't watch the OC so I could give a ferret's arse if they appear on it.. They are going to be at the 9:30 club next time they come through DC anyways based on the number of people trying to get tickets outside the venue.

Sorry some of you are so dull and I have to spell it out. My point was that the board seems to be the domain of cooler than thou music fans who scoff at anything that MTV and major labels try to force feed the masses, so it seemed a bit strange that this band is not being mocked and shred to bits by this board.

i personally think that i can make up my own mind on whether or not to like a band, be they force feed or otherwise... i certianly didn't think Kings Of Leon or The Strokes were all that.  sure there are probably a thousand other bands out there that sound like Wolfmother, they just managed to grab the golden ring. they now have an album people can easily buy and play regular shows around the country.

young bands with classic rock influences are in vogue now, witness the band i saw at the HFStival pre-party What About Frank? who recently signed to capitol records.  they were essential robert plant backed by foghat and the young adults at the show were diggin them.  personally i think there are hundreds of bands more deserving to be screwed over by a major label, but clearily they got signed because they have the potential to move units....
