I am really hoping Elbow still comes over and opens for these Gomez shows, or better yet, headlines somewhere

I don't know much about The Helio Sequence (other than that their drummer was in modest mouse for a short while until recently) but the Secret Machines should be good.  Any confirmation from those who saw them open for Blonde Redhead (I think it was Blonde Redhead)?

My highly critical co-worker thought Secret Machines were great.  "Guys that can sing and can play -- a rare combination."  He even bought their album, which is nearly unheard of for him.  ???  That's why I figure it's worth checking out.

Yes, an Elbow headline would be wonderful! Ideally with I Am Kloot supporting, who will be in NYC for some reason very soon. Besides, they still owe us one. At least one.

I'd also like to see BRMC come down for a show. It's not that tough for anyone involved either with them, once they get back from Glasto. They're been up in Philly working on their new album. Other than a few festivals and the album, they have some free time now. Seems to me that they could very easily ride down to either Baltimore or DC for an evening to make a little money.     ;)

I Am Kloot will be in NYC?? Will they do any shows? That's worth a road trip.

Nick Lowe, Birchmere. Finally, a Brit worth seeing.

Although I saw Lloyd Cole at a smoke-free sit down venue in Denver a couple of weeks ago and he was quite good. But he's Scottish, right?

I thought he was English, but I have not really been thinking much about it.

Born English, educated in Scotland.

Lloyd Cole established himself as one of the most articulate and acute songwriters of the postpunk era. Born January 31, 1961 in Buxton, England, Cole formed the Commotions in 1982 while studying philosophy at the University of Glasgow.
