Live Nation's announcement for the promotion -- and stories based on their news release -- did not mention the concert promoter's narrow definition of a "service fee."

"Fans will still be asked to pay parking fees (usually $6) as well as in some cases facility fees and/or charity fees," Live Nation spokesman John Vlautin wrote in a reply to CNN's request for clarification.[/i]

I would expect the "service fees" to include whatever charges were related to the actual processing of the order: service charges, convenience charges, order processing fee, cheap delivery, etc.    I'm not surprised at all that parking, facility fees or charity fees aren't included.

Did people really interpret this to mean "free parking"?

I guess calling them generic isn't fair, honestly. They don't do much for me and are pitchfork darlings, though. It is fairly upbeat music and the girl has a decent enough voice. Never seen them live.

Actually she'll be with them on this tour, and on the next album, but will leave after that.  I've seen them twice and they put on a pretty energetic show.  They certainly aren't for everyone, but there's a shambolic complexity to their music and lyrics that puts them a bit above the crowd amongst the rest of the young angular post-punk types out there these days.
