I'm still trying to decide between DC or Raleigh for DCFC. Has anyone ever been to Disco Rodeo? I heard the venue sucks.

disco rodeo (formerly the ritz) is the worst venue/worst sounding venue i've ever been to.
 
 if you _HAVE_ to go to dcfc, just hit up dc.
 that being said, death cab for cutie sucks.  i completely regret the time that i wasted attending one of their shows (for someone) back in 2002.   they played a show 5 minutes from my house back in 2001 that i was originally supposed to go to, but i fell asleep and missed it.  if i had attended that show, i wouldn't have wasted my time driving down to chapel hill in 2002.
 
 i swear they were almost as boring as sigur ros.

i don't know dr. dog except for what's been said about them on here, but i am so happy the oranges band are actually playing in d.c. for once. will i have to buy tix in advance for this? didn't people say architecture in helsinki had an overflow crowd at dc9 last time around? i listened to both of their albums and thought they were way boring, but that sort of electro-tinged pop isn't my thing.

Dr. Dog is not very sexy, but unlike AC Newman, they do have stage presence.

yes, it was packed and the line to get in was around the block ... i could say a lot of things about AIH, but "boring" wouldn't be one of them

criticism? besides you and fukiyumi golfing guy, i haven't even seen them mentioned. i'm glad they're coming back so soon (i missed their DC9 show).

if you find the thread about the DC9 show with Architecture in Helsinki, you'll see most posters saying they didn't like Dr. Dog

yes, that does automatically mean something negative, but i can't see how the hell they'd be part of that scene ... i see them as straight-up throwback 60s pop/rock ... "Easy Beat" is just fantastic all the way through
