I, too, enjoy Middle Distance Runner. I probably won't make the Black Cat show but they're making a trip to Richmond about 2 weeks later, so I want to see them then.

I CAN'T Believe this show is the same night as the Dears... as DND and MDR are two of my absolute favs at the moment, but I'd really like to see the Dears as well.  if fact i may have made the love connection between those two bands, who perfectly complement each other   :)  Given the fact they both like to pull of stunts at their show, it should be interesting to see if they try to out do  each other. Maybe they learn each other songs and switch places  ;)

If The Books can fill the 9:30, DC is hipper than I realized.

Yeah, it's a real bummer that both of these shows are on the same night. I've been wanting to see DND for a while now, and I rather like MDR, but I've already got my ticket for The Dears....

Sweet! Would love to see how the books' material is reproduced live. Also very surprising to me that they're headlining at the 930.

Finally some anti-scalper moves being taken by the band, after the awful experience trying to get tickets to fans in Montreal and London, UK hopefully this will prove to be an effective method that others will adopt, though with big brother (Clear Channel, Live Nation, et al. ) in the mix for nearly all venues except these obscure one-offs that doesn't seem all that likely.

Yeh, that's going to be a toughie. It took some doing to get them to play ATP in May, I'd have been surprised to see them Mainstage at Black Cat. THIS is a shocker. And though I love the city dearly it is definitely NOT that hip!

Hey there - long time... thanks for the heads up, I received the email with 5 million other people. Everybody is trying to get tix to this show. I'll be lucky if I get any, but I'm trying to stay positive. But the bright side, I know so many people trying to get tix, that one of them is bound to take me   :D

yeah you're right.  because no brokers live in new jersey or new york and can pick up tickets at will call and pass them along to a customers.  do you really think will call only solves the ticket broker issue?  it doesn't.  nothing can really stop supply and demand, only limit it.  if you want to get tickets, learn to get them the same way the brokers do - with practice.

supply and demand really can't be destroyed.  only limited.  stuff like this helps, but it wont solve the problem.  it will only mask it.  there are ways around everything. [/b]
