chockey, stop frontin'. you're not going to convince us. making all tickets will-call will make a HUGE difference - only the most determined scalpers are going to order will-call tickets, hope they get a customer for their inflated prices who is willing to go on faith that everything will work out on the night of the show, and then go through the trouble of going to the venue to pass on the tickets. impossible? no. but MUCH less likely. this is the type of effort a fan is willing to make. good for arcade fire, these should be some great shows.
the problem with scalping is that it's too easy when you can buy remotely and in advance. [/b]
absolutely. totally agree with you. i guess the point i was trying to make is that whenever something is sold out, no matter what the circumstances, it's ALWAYS somebody else's fault. tickets.com. the brokers. the fact that it wasn't will call. something. you're never going to satisfy everybody.
i applaud the arcade fire for putting such measures on their shows. its a step in the right direction and will certainly limit the re-sale of any of the 5 shows by a great deal, but will not limit it completely. even with 5 shows and will call only, tickets will still be re-sold, and somebody who didnt get tickets will still place the blame on somebody else. i wasn't trying to convince - just trying to point that out. no hard feelings.
