I wondered about the duplicate announcement too. Then thought maybe it's the addition of Mice Parade that deemed another announcement.(?)

well, make a day of it!!!  get to the stadium around noon, tail-gate beforehand. . .drink it up beforehand as well. . .you'll have 4 1/2 hours before the game, which is plenty of time to prep.  sit out in the sun and enjoy a game in the park, then stay and rawk out!!

hmmm, it sounds like a good idea to me!

oh, contact the o's about group ticket pricing. . .you might end up in the upper deck for the game, but you might get a discount on ticket prices. [/b]

FYI, descriptions of Warehouse show Friday....
[I love that Planaria sends out these descriptions -- again, much like Metro Cafe used to do, and so helpful if you want to possibly just check out something new for something to do.  Keep it up!]

 BIRDMAN, PLANARIA & FUKCLEARCHANNELIHATEYOU PRESENT:

 TOMORROW
 FRIDAY MARCH 12
 ALL AGES â?¢ $10
 DOORS: 8:30

 THE APES (Midnight)
 MODEY LEMON (11:00)
 GOGOGO AIRHEART (10:00)
 KILOWATTHOURS (9:00)

APES are not your average band in sound or in concept. They compose songs around drawings they make and compose drawings around stories they imagine, stories that would burn green into the eyes of Philip K Dick, Jorge Luis Borges, and Ray Bradbury. MODEY LEMON is a 2-man trash rock band from Pittsburg playing a hurricane of sound for B-Movie Rock and Roll. GOGOGO AIRHEART combines the diverse territories of disco, post-punk and the art-rock glam classicism of The Stooges in a stunning display of slippery funk bass lines, jagged guitar cuts, scathing vocals and polyrhythmic drumming.  Born in Louisville, KY sometime around 1997, KILOWATTHOURS adapted to a constant change in environment by becoming increasingly grandiose and triumphant. With its
line-up evolving nearly a half-dozen times, they've since settled into their new position as one of New York City's loudest pop bands, boasting as many as three guitars wailing over keyboards, bass and drums.

I care...been listening to their new album (a review shortly on BigYawn) and it's really good. More mature....have you ever heard the New Amsterdams, Matt's other band? They're pretty cool too, much mellower sound, but I love his voice.

Good to hear, redsock...I haven't gotten the new album (yet), but enjoy the previous two (that I have, at least -- I'm no afficionado, and just kind of have an impression that they only had two previous albums).  I think I would have checked them out, now I'm Mekons bound.

They are playing JAXX on 4-3-2004

Okay, someone was just talking about Destroyer, because I looked it up (it's one guy, right).  Gggrrr, I wish we could search on this thing!!  Can't find the thread where he/it was mentioned, so here:

To add to Pollard's heads up that Destroyer is coming to town soon --    ;)

Hmm, maybe that wasn't me you were referencing then.  I was talking about his new album (which is better than his previous one, methinks).  I thought he came through town a while ago - I see a stop at Black Cat in November, 2002; but that's the most recent I can find.
