Ever since their Coachella set, I have been eager to see them again. It's looking like Oct. will also be a busy month. [/b]
Same...that was one of the best sets I saw at Coachella short of the Pixies or the Cure.

This Helmet show...last I heard, they were down to two original members and they were gonna change the name to something else.  Of course that was back in like October.  I can't find any details since then.  I wonder what's going on...I used to love those guys back in high school.

I saw The Zombies in some hole in the wall in South Baltimore years and years ago and they really sucked it bad. Was very disappointed because I love their music. Whether they still suck or not, I couldn't say.

Now, with Love playing, that makes it all worth it!

i wonder if that was one of those tours where the only original member of the band was the drummer who was trying to cash in on the name...

as of the beginning of the year the band consists of Rod Argent and Colin Blunstone, with friends and family backing them. Jim Rodford who played bass in Argent is on board along with his son Steve on Drums.   The shows have been getting rave reviews, so this should be a great double bill!  Can't wait to hear Love kick out some of the early stuff in addition to Forever Changes.

Yeah, that was the one. They gave The Zombies a bad name!

Glad you posted that it's a better and more original line-up now. This one I'd like to catch.

Steve Earle will host his own show on Air America. The show will be called the Revolution Starts Now. A pilot is being taped next week and the show will air on Saturday's. More details and showtimes to come.

He's also playing a solo acoustic appearance at an unspecified Borders in DC at an unspecified time this Monday.

Note: His new album, and his last one, both suck.

Her album is terrible. She got some great folks--Queens of the Stone Age, Lanegan, etc.--to work on it with her, but her vocals are weak and better lyrics have been written by a 17-year old just back from the Lilith Fair.

Some new Black Cat shows are up:

FRI SEPT 10- BLACK CAT ANNIVERSARY PARTY: 11 years, 11 bands, and lots of free stuff $7 mainstage 9:30
(not new, but some additional info...although a list of bands would be nice)

THUR OCT 14- MISSION OF BURMA $15 mainstage 8:30
FRI OCT 22- MIKE WATT mainstage 9:30

There are more, but these are the ones that caught my attention
