I saw them at the Bowery a bunch of years ago with M Ward opening, and they put on a great show. They're a good bit more enjoyable live than on record IMO. That said, I'm not surprised by the backstage show...they're not exactly big news these days, and while the Bowery might be about BC/MS size, NY has a lot more people than DC.

I guess backstage is kind of a surprise cause it looks like they're playing the Bowery in NYC a few days later and Johnny Brenda's too.  I guess people appreciate good music more up there.
? Johnny Brenda's is fairly small venue as well. Never been to Bowery, but anyhow, at times booking is just as simple as what space and date available or coinciding. That said, you are also probably right.;)

two additional nights of thievery-- fri, 1/30 and sat, 1/31

via the going out gurus blog
Pretty much everybody knew this back when the first three went on sale. I got PMs from like 3 different people telling me to hold off for the weekend shows.

Does anyone know when these shows will be announced and when they will go on sale?

theres a good chance that they will go on sale tomorrow and that it will be announced in the email blast

Is this at the club? I've heard great things about his dj sets. Could be fun.

Yes. Generally if something is listed without listing a venue on here, it's implied its at the club.

Not for me, but...

Phish
Pittsburgh and Boston

"This morning, LiveNation.com was listing a Jan. 30 on-sale date for a Phish show on June 18 at the Post-Gazette Pavilion outside Pittsburgh, which lines up nicely alongside rumors of an appearance at the Bonnaroo festival in Manchester, Tenn., the previous weekend. The link has since been removed.

Meanwhile, a June 6 show at Great Woods outside Boston is up on Ticketsnow.com, a secondary ticketing company owned by Ticketmaster." From Billboard

Source?

But that's basically the type of tour I could have predicted for Phish.  Outdoors, large, and multiple night stands.
