It has nothing to do with my opinion of the bands, moreso my perception of how large a draw those bands are. I wasn't aware Mastodon (who presumably is headlining) could sell out 9:30 Club consistantly, much less come close to filling Patriot Center.
they have four albums, the last debuted at number eleven, sold almost fifty thousand the first week and almost two hundred thousand so far, headlined a festival in feb., played four other festivals (including bonnaroo and pitchfork) have songs on rock band 2 and guitar hero 3, opened for metallica for part of the death magnetic tour, have a cult like exploding into mainstay status following, four star reviews in rolling stone, countless interviews/covers of many magazines, rule the "new wave metal scene", performed on letterman, conan, mtv music awards, nominated for a grammy, and so on. i guess the black cat was booked that day.
