Also keep in mind the 930 is less than half the size of the National...
Uh, no way. The National holds 1500 people. I *think* 930 Club holds 1200, but even if that figure is wrong, there's no way it holds < 750.

My apologies .. I was misinformed that the National was over 2000 but you are correct.

Unfortunately the club is booked the days before the show in Richmond other than Easter Sunday. Looks like WEEN is skipping DC on this leg. Blah

A natural DC show if there ever was one..   ;)

Then they must be pretty bad. I know that many a Shoegazers would disagree with me on this but I think they flat out suck. Totally sloppy to the point of being downright irritating.

Not what he was referring to.

He was talking about this:
Mayhem - This show has been cancelled. Refunds available at place of purchase through 04/21/10.
Ludicra, Tombs, Krallice

Wed 4/7

9:30 Club
Washington, DC

Or was there a joke there that I missed?

really?  i have to explain it to you?

they're both "mayhem tours" (mayhem the band vs. mayhem the traveling festival), but "luckily" the craptastic one wasn't canceled - get it?  i was being ironic.  thought that was common currency around here...

Ween's playing in NC that night.

I thought that maybe that's what you were getting at Sweetcell but wasn't sure.

Toby Keith
with Special Guests
Saturday, Sept 11th

At the risk of sounding like a bad American, I can think of few things more cringe-inducing than the idea of a Toby Keith concert on 9/11.

Don't worry about it. A Toby Keith concert on 9/11 is pretty much the most un-American event possible.
