Initial Sonic Circuits lineup

Pinhas/Merzbow duo!
I guess Merzbow finally got over his swine flu paranoia.

Magma and Fennesz are huge pulls as well.

Actually the B&S MPP show was pretty Meh, even Stuart thought so, but the 9:30 shows prior that were great.  Totally dug their last album, it was nice to hear some of the bands other influences besides Felt and Nick Drake.

Belle and Sebastian is a band that gets better on each album.  Not many bands are like that.  Hopefully the new one continues that pattern.  I don't really know how good the MPP show was.  I was there but some girl decided to choose me to tell her whole life story to during their set.

I can see how their amphitheater show would have a tough time living up to their 9:30 shows, but the setlist was incredible, the place was packed and we had driven in from Michigan the day before to meet up with friends in Baltimore. Aside from Stuart going Axl Rose, it would have been hard for me not to enjoy the show. And being close enough to shake Stuart's hand was pretty incredible. Christ, they even played the Model.

The five songs I really, really want to hear next time around:

Seeing Other People
I Love My Car
Loneliness of a Middle Distance Runner
There's Too Much Love
Rollercoaster Ride

I'm adding my B&S comments over to the Just Announced Commentary FYI, in an effort to keep Kosmo and other folks happy since not everyone appreciates geeky Scottish indie rock (although I'm pretty sure Kosmo does).

Anyone else catch B&S at the OLD Black Cat?  ;)  DAR shows are for suckers!!

I hope there's another thwarted bum-rush of the stage like at the 2002 B&S/Sleater Kinney DAR show.

The High Dials
The Asteroid #4

Metro Gallery
Baltimore
Friday June 11

(Before you ask, no DC show)

* Line-up notes:
"More exciting news: the band is welcoming two familiar faces back to the live line-up:
George Donoso III on drums (ex-Dears) and Eric Dougherty (The Rothschilds) on keys.
New member Charles Prénoveau-Giguère will be making his debut in the band on bass.
The band are out to recapture their fullest-possible live sound complete with the beautiful
three-part harmonies that mark their recordings."

My 2nd time this year at DC9 with some peers of mine. Performing with Kokayi (grammy nominated hip hop artist) will be a blessing.

though i like the flyer . . . like i enjoy most of the flyers/posts you put out on this forum . . . i find it odd that the backdrop for thus flyer is advertisments for winery tours in california.  is that to perhaps "educate consumers"?

:D hell i have no clue. the homie, Seez Mics, got the flyer done. its dope you noticed that though. i just got flyers to hand out for this last night. glad you enjoy the flyers.

i need to visit a winery.

Did anyone see their most recent show in DC (high dials).  A friend told me today it was not so hot, that they were a shade of their former selves.

^ Haven't seen them live since Rhishi left but would sort of expect what you just said to be the case since he was always one of the most important aspects of that band. He, Robbie and Trevor. The rest are good but, as we've witnessed, replacable. Lose one of the 3 and, essentially, you've lost one third of the band.
