Other than a Jello Biafra spoken word event nearly 30 years ago, I can't think of a speech/lecture that I've paid to see.

That said, if it's a unique spoken word event that I can't pull up on youtube or netflix or something like that...sure I totally get the point of paying for it.

I really like Rollins' books and I have about a dozen of them. That said, I think his spoken word shows are 25% interesting and insightful and 75% lowest-common-denominator crap, along the lines of "Dick Cheney, eh?.... How about THAT guy?!? HE SHOT A DUDE! [waits for applause]. I mean, HALLIBURTON! [waits for applause]"

I walked out of the Birchmere really disappointed and wishing I'd never gone. Just my two cents.
