he gets good press for performances of the older stuff because someone has had the good sense to hire top notch musicians to perform with brian.  from what i've heard brian sort of functions as the "conductor".  it's a bit like seeing a tribute act with the person being on hand.

This is how I felt about Brian Wilson last time I saw him.

Can't imagine a better NYE band than GBV...think they are playing New York this year.

Yes to GBV in New York.  I'd be there def if I were in the country.  And, Old 97s at The Hamilton is....weird (i.e., the Hamilton as the location), but could be great.

I follow them closely..was bummed not to make it to CHarlottesville which I intended to do... I would say the odds are 0...
