no I just don't see it in either case.. Nick Cave came here twice on his last tour

getting screwed is like when Ween didn't play DC for 5 years and you had to go Richmond, Delaware Beaches or Baltimore

not sure when PJ was here last but there must be an element to waiting between shows in a specific market in order to be able to extract a higher fee...
She appears to have US festival dates over the summer leaking out so I bet DC gets something around then. The April tour looks to be all small theaters.

Baltimore technically "counts" as DC in my opinion.

She played the 930 on 9/10/2001. Really amazing show. Totally terrible next day.

Do not lump Baltimore in with DC.  Thank you.

Saying Baltimore, is the same as DC, is like saying New York is the same as New Jersey.

I don't know what I think anymore...Baltimore and DC are obviously not the same.. but are they the same music market? that is the question....I tend to think what really matters is how do promoters see them.. do they view them as the same market? should they? On Pollstar when you search Washington DC you pull up the Baltimore shows too....

Last night I drove to Baltimore for the Rev and I made it in about 50 minutes from Arlington, VA...

I tend to think they are not the same market but that there is a little bit of overlap for smaller acts (if you don't have too many fans I guess sometimes you might have to only play one of them...playing one kind of means you can't play the other)... some big tours will hit both.. look at Stevie Nicks/pretenders. .they played Verizon earlier this month or last month and they're playing a show at Royal Farms early next year..

Yeah you see that with arena shows alot.  They'll hit DC in the first round of bigger cities, then Baltimore on their next lap through secondary markets.

I don't think its absurd to assume that sometimes a tour will consider Baltimore and DC to be the same market.

I'd phrase it thusly: "saying Baltimore, is the same as DC, is like saying New Jersey is the same as New York."

Same market to me.
45 minutes or so to the 930/Blackcat; maybe 50 minutes to RamsheadLive or Ottobar.
Also, Merriweather is definitely in the joint Baltimore/DC market.

they count Jiffy Lube Live as part of the DC market, and that's probably as far away from DC as Baltimore....
