Washington DC population = 693,972 (2017)
Charlottsville VA population = 48,017 (2017)

I'd say they're lucky that they are getting a show :)

Father John Misty is going from playing The Anthem (max:6000) to the Jefferson Theatre in C'ville (max: 750) shortly after. That's quite the drop in capacity even at the Anthem's smallest configuration.

So are Anthem ticket prices 1/8th the price of the Jefferson, given that there is eight times the capacity at Anthem?

Always weird to me that the bigger the venue the higher the price....but with few exceptions it is the rule....

I saw Willie at 930 about four years ago for $50...

What I have learned is not to be stingy about concerts...biggest regrets missing Chuck Berry at 930 circa 1996 for a measly $50.....by far the biggest

And ray Charles at birchmere right before he died for over $100

Btw Willie is 85 years old folks

I don't think Charlottsville people are willing to pay that much given that they probably make 1/8 the salary of the average DC person.

Charlottesville is a rather affluent area (albeit people in the demographic group that would want to see FJM probably not as much).

2/3 is the fraction you're looking for.

The current median household income for Charlottesville is $62,523.

I saw Willie at this show. I'm forever glad that I saw him but he seemed like a past his prime old man 20 years ago. I want to say the ticket was in the $20 range.

he was alright. not good enough to see twice. especially since I haven't cared for his subsequent work. he seemed a little too full of himself.

You will always remember the show you saw

You will never remember what you did with the money you saved by not going
