I saw Billy Idol with Steve Stevens in 2008 at Pier 6.....hard to believe its now over ten years.. I was literally front row center.. almost too close! I was not yet a maniac about getting stuff signed so I improvised and flipped a poster ad I'd taken on the way in and midsong not losing a beat Billy motions me like "come on lets do it give me the sharpie" and he keeps singing holding mic in one hand and signing with the other... a huge signature...he was so happy to make a fan happy..
I know he gets a lot of shit from the "true punkers" but the guy is legit to me...a great performer and one of the nicer guys in music...
Cradle of Love was the first mp3 I ever downloaded.
I'm was a big billy idol fan as a pre-teen...but getting cradle of love past it's sell by date of 1990, yikes
glad to hear that Steve Stevens is joining, he is a big draw for me
interesting note about this song (which probably would be panned today due to it's statutory rape-y theme)
When performing this song live, Idol often made it clear what he thinks of it.
The studio version has these lyrics:
It's easy
I know how to please me
Live, Idol often changed it to:
It's cheesy
This song is so cheesy
