Birchmere

This is Mike Campbell’s new band...the lead guitarist from the Heartbreakers

This is the only potential show I am currently excited about that might happen but I have yet to buy a ticket...

I am not sure I would go though...

Is it just me, or is watching concerts on television or big screens or movie screens, just boring.

I love phish.  I worship phish.  I tried watching a phish concert, while not actually at a concert, on a television.

I, was bored by the end of 2 songs.

Co-signed. I could barely make it through three songs of Meatloaf, Live from Sydney over the weekend.

No thanks.  Only slightly less laughable than Metallica's awful idea.

The last concert film I saw in a theatre was Stop Making Sense. 1985, maybe?  Watching that era of Floyd seems helplessly boring. If they were unearthing a show from 75 or 77....I'd briefly consider  it. But that'll never happen.

Greetings old friends... So this is pretty random, but I thought I'd gauge interest here.

I admittedly haven't listened to G. Love since the late 90's other than here and there, but I've stumbled upon the opportunity to host a back yard concert.

Limited deets but here goes...

- Would be most likely Saturday 9/26 or 10/3
- Hosted in my back yard
- Cost is in flux and probably the kicker for most, but would probably be about $100 a person and I'm working to get the cost so I could include beer/drinks for everyone as well, possibly even some grilled dogs.
- 90 minute set
- Location - MoCo, MD
- Working on # for attendance, but absolutely no more than 50, but probably closer to 30.

That's about it for now but if I could pull this off, is this something anyone would be interested in? I'd even share my home address with Jules if he doesn't already have it.

I would totally be in..I wanted to go to Cape Cod and check him out but vacay fell through...$100 is a lot BUT having a show in such a personal environment would be so much fun! This show could also help my sanity..I would bring a +1 I hope

I know G Love has been doing these shows

Also I have to just say I talked to him after a show January 2013 and he’s the nicest guy..

I will add that G Love gets a bit stereotyped cause of his early white boy hip hop but he has gone on to do all kinds of cool stuff from producing a great album for his idol John Hammond to working with people like Lucinda Williams...my favorite of his records was produced by Jim Dickinson who played with the Stones and just about everyone (his kids are North Mississippi Allstate)...anyways I see G Love as just another in a long line of great American folk blues troubadours..

I don’t know if this is something IMP could get on board in any capacity? Advertising in blast/newsletter..I mean G did play an online show to raise $ for 930...probably a reach but worth exploring
