Isn’t that what all activities are?

We have pages and pages of comments about people visiting “breweries” where all you do is drink beer

Bars, sports, breweries, concerts.....it’s all about selling alcohol and crappy food

Having said that I agree this doesn’t entice me...

Miniature golf is traditionally a family activity.

Have they added booze to PB&Js yet?

Actually, it's quite normal for kids to be seen with their parents in pubs in Europe. This is less common in America because America has a weird relationship with alcohol
.
Only in the past 20 years or so, with the rise of craft beer, have brewery taprooms even existed. In that time, I've visited 240+ taprooms, seen kids in a vast majority of them, and can count on two fingers the number of taprooms where kids were barred (de Garde in Oregon said it was some kind of ordinance...I didn't have a kid with me anyway... Flying Dog doesn't give a reason, but they such anyway.)

Before that, people didn't take their kids to breweries because typically people didn't GO TO breweries.

Breweries know their target audience is in the 30-50 yr old male with kids
so they'd be foolish to not make it easy for them to come
they should set up craft areas and pens to keep the lil ones confined

Sometimes i feel like I'm just dropping my opinion of how things happened, historically. If anyone has any knowledge that counters any of that, do share.

Not to get too off-topic, but the first brewery I ever visited was Coors, in Golden Colorado. Long before I had a kid. But it seems like there were kids on the tour. You did a little tour, then they gave you four samples at the end of the tour. Craft brewers later seemed to mimic that setup. I did tour at a number of places that did that...Dogfish, Harpoon, Deschutes, Cigar City, Stone, New Belgium, Sierra Nevada, and others. I remember at Deschutes in Bend people would just come in for the four free samples. You could leave with a buzz with no money spent. I remember going to Alesmith in San Diego and they charged, but it was cheaper than the take home beer. Then at some point breweries realized that people would actually pay $9 for a pint of beer at a taproom, and the golden days of taprooms was over. I guess i digress, but i don't remember breweries ever not welcoming kids.

The talking heads are saying that the relatively short amount of time that it took to get to a verdict indicates "guilty".
