I hate to say it but the Birchmere is a venue I never expect to go back to….they don’t book anything cool anymore…a bunch of country and folk has beens and has beens…

I mean yay Lyle Lovett for $119!! John Hiatt!! Tower of Power 135th anniversary tour!

Like Blues Alley, that place in Bethesda , I hardly check their listings

Yeah in the late 90s and early 2000s was different cause they lapped up a lot of great alternative country….Saw Lucinda Williams there…who knows what else…Iris Dement

But since the alternative country boom fizzled out it’s been very slim pickings…
