mustaine has declared that the next album will be their last, and that the upcoming tour will be a farewell tour... weird that they're opening for maiden.

Why is this weird??? Maiden is huge and in the US Megadeth does big clubs. If Maiden makes it worth their while and I imagine merch sales will get a huge boost at these shows
