Hey Seth
« on: March 01, 2005, 12:33:00 pm »
It's been awhile since we've had one of these threads.  So without further ado.

Could you please bring this show to DC.

New Order / Chems

that would be one HELL of a show, i'd pay $100 for that ticket! but its probably only a Coachella warm-up show.  however....

 from neworderonline.com

NEW ORDER WARM-UP GIG WITH THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS ON APRIL 29TH
 Feb 26, 2005 - 6:02:18 PM

(Chemical Brothers Website)  New Order will be doing a warm-up concert in Oakland, California at the Henry J. Kaiser Arena on April 29th, 2005.

The Henry J. Kaiser is a venue that can receive 5000 to 7000 people depending on the setup.

This is the first non-festival US date confirmed by New Order (actually this is confirmed by the Chemical Brothers website), dates are expected to be included for Chicago and New York City soon.

I'll sign you up to receive an e-mail every time I post.  That way we can avoid these pesky cross-posting issues.

big enough that they could sell out a three night stand easily at the 930 club.

please, do not book them at nation, or lisner, or constition hall. that's just cruel!

and if there was a forum presale (i know, presale is a dirty word, but if its just for forum members, then its not so dirty), that would be fantastic.

New Order in DC would be amazing. It's been years since they have played here...wasn't 1993 the last time? God, I would love to see them (I know, I know, everyone says they suck live, but check out the Finsbury Park 2002 DVD and maybe you'll reevaluate). I would just love to hear them do a few Joy Division songs. Of course, I'll get to see them at Coachella too, but a headlining set would be really amazing.

There is much buzz in blogland about the new New Order, and it's been forever since they have done  shows in the US.  I'd go because it's a great combination of two musical movements best artists.  But, in the end any from the DC area that would want to see them would head to NYC... I'll be looking for a ride in that case   ;)
