A Hold Steady song produced by Jason Narducy of the Superchunk and Bob Mould and Split Single bands, written for Seth Meyers' Netflix special. Checks a lot of boxes for me.

500 hungarians playing "personal jesus"

the final mix doesn't contain much of the 500 other than vocals (note there are no mics on the drums), but those 500 are feeling it.  love the dude walking around with a balalaika.

Next time some SJW tries to tell you about the evils of poverty tourism, remind them of this.

loved the tiny desk, but was only so-so on his IG thingy.  he never finished a song, would only play for a minute or so.  he effed up songs he's played hundreds of times.  he seemed bewildered by the technology.  he mumbled.  i get it that chris is a bashful, aww-shucks kinda guy - but he's also a professional entertainer, dammit.  pull it together, martin.

beating jules to the very predictable punch:

he never finished a song, would only play for a minute or so.

so you're saying he's merciful?

*or*

that was my favorite thing about the show!

I, like many of us on here, thought Coldplay was absolutely incredible after the first two records. The first one, in particular, had such interesting guitar parts that didn’t dominate the listeners ear. But they’ve been increasingly crap with ever LP since then.

Just like U2.

There were no interesting guitar parts on the first Radiohead LP.

Radiohead is really a band that hangs on how you feel about House of Cards. If you don't think that's a good record, then people have to acknowledge they haven't had a good record in 19 years which is an awful long time for a band as highly acclaimed.
