NKOTB, is it ok if I turn this thread into the snailhook equivalent of the "hey seth" thread?

Because I'm going to whether you want me to or not.

 Big Blood?
 Visitations?
 Ex-Cocaine?
Religious Knives/Woods again (missed last summer's show due to being violently ill)?
 PG Six?
 Carlos Giffoni again?
 Kemialliset Ystävät?
 Theo Angell?
 Brightblack Morning Light?
 Alcest?
 Anvil Salute?
 Birchville Cat Motel?
 Black Forest/Black Sea?
 Circulatory System?
 Death Ambient?
 Fursaxa?
 Directing Hand?
 Earthless?
 Voice of the Seven Woods?

I'll probably think of 20 more acts I'd like to see once I click "post reply."

I got you beat by about 2 or 3.

 Besides Alcest, I've got:

Brightblack Morning Light? (I'd love them too!)
Black Forest/Black Sea? (??? Is this Joe Lally's Black Sea or am I totally confused?)
Fursaxa? (I can help you book this one Snail if the guy is willing to come to the area.)

Unfortunately, we're dreaming on getting Alcest. I may be wrong but I don't even think he plays in France. If so, not much.

Sweetcell, you lose no points. You gain 1 for knowing Alcest.

Fursaxa is a girl.

Different Black Sea; Black Forest/Black sea is one band.

And yeah I know Alcest and Kemialliset Ystävät are next to impossible but stranger things have happened.

Wait a minute...maybe I'm thinking of Füxa but I'm sure I'm thinking of this guy I kind of know in that band... I need to go check something. Too many to keep track of!

But Joe had some band several years ago that was something like Black Sea but read recently about some kind of reorganization or something. May be totally different people though.

Edit: Okay, I was thinking of Flux Utopia. Sorry about that. Like I said, too damn many bands to keep track of.

The new Grails album (Take Refuge in Clean Living) is their best yet.

Would love to see them again too.

I'm still dying to see The December Sound.

If my memory serves me correct, a couple years ago I got them booked with Snail but they ended up backing out due to work issues and van problems.

Then I got them booked way early on for last year's Walls Of Sound Fest. That fell through fast too. Don't know why but I think they have an aversion to getting too close to the Mason Dixon line. (They are from Boston.) Closest they've gotten to date is Philadelphia.

Jake had them booked with his band, Screen Vinyl Image, in Baltimore but they ended up backing out of that one too. Well, that wouldn't have happened anyway because at the last minute The Metro Gallery cancelled the show. They 'claim' that it was due to low interest. Bullshit! Their liquor license just came through that day and they wanted to go out and celebrate with some friends so pulled any old reason out of their ass to close up shop for the night. (Sound totally sucks there anyway though the location is very good and visually it's very cool. They do book some good shows though.)

I have one of their eps (forget the name; the one with the Reverence cover on it) and like it a lot. So yeah I'll second that one.

That's the Kill Me EP. That EP sounds a lot like BRMC but their new full length, which also is good, has a little bit more of an early Spacemen 3 or Spiritualized sound to it. There are a couple cuts on my station.

You know...I see BRMC talked up so much on this board but I haven't heard a note from them.

 Maybe I should.

...and as up on the obsure as you are. (shakes head)

Not sure what you'll think of them. I like them but you might find them just a tad too Mainstream. Start with their 1st album. I'm sure you'll find something you like. It's still my favorite of theirs. Howl (their 3rd?) has more of a BRMC does their version of Americana.

You should also check out The Stevenson Ranch Davidians. Would love for Snail to book them! They just told me recently that they want to tour more but so far they haven't been able to get past the Mississippi River. Sparx will back me up on this band.

They're just a band I never got around to listening to for no real reason.

I think I walk a good balance between the mainstream-ish and the umm...not-so-mainstream.

Snailhook, Pocahaunted would be awesome too.

It looks like Death Ambient have only played a few shows in their 13-year existence so I guess that one is highly unlikely too.
