I saw Nirvana...didn't see Blind Melon or Sublime though.

I actually feel more lucky to have seen Heatmiser (w/Brendan Benson opening).

Other dead rock stars I've seen:

INXS (when Michael Hutchence was still alive)
Material Issue (Jim Ellison was really great)
The Ramones (sadly with CJ and not Dee Dee)

yah, we were trying to think of some other good ones too. thought of Alice In Chains but many ppl saw them on Lollapalooza (I saw them in 1991 with Van Hagar and also in 1991 with the Monsters of Metal tour or something with Slayer and Megadeth or some crap).

never saw the Ramones but did see INXS.

did anyone see Tupac, though?? that would be quite impressive!

I would be impressed if anyone got to see:

 Joy Division
 The Germs (w/Darby Crash)
 The Screamers
 The Stooges (w/Dave Alexander)
 The Minutemen
 The Replacements (w/Bob Stinson)
 The Who (w/Keith Moon)
 The Clash

For some perspective, I was 10 when Kurt died, 12 when Shannon died and 13 when Bradley died. Also, I grew up in WV, so even though my mom would have GLADLY escorted me to see any of the above bands, that was not exactly an option.

I did however see Wesley Willis before he died, ha. And in the non-musical but still interesting scene, Mitch Hedberg.

Wasn't Lane's body found something like a week or two after he died? What an awful way to have gone.

Was gonna go to that Hedberg show in College Park that took place right before he died and from what I've heard, it was a good thing I didn't make it; he supposedly read the whole routine off of pieces of paper and seemed completely out of it.

Wiki says yes.
They found his body April 19, 2002. Supposedly he only weighed 86 lbs at the time of his death too - he was 6'1" - ewww.

"The King County Coroner's Office estimated Staley to have died on April 5, 2002. By coincidence, the same Coroner's Office estimated Kurt Cobain to have died on the same day eight years prior."

The bigger issue is who would've wanted to? Out of the three initial musical acts listed, only Nirvana was even remotely redeeming.

In theory, I'd admit to a homosexual affair with a family member before I'd admit to seeing Sublime in concert. The fact some of you aren't at all ashamed about this fact is one of the most bizarre things I've ever encountered on this board.

I wouldn't be surprised to find some boardies who have seen these.   I saw the "Cut The Crap" version of The Clash, but I'm not going to count that one.  Ugh.

Man, I wish he was alive so I could ask him what diet he was on.

Here's your chance - why don't you just admit to both and save yourself years of therapy?

Well, I figure I'll already be in therapy for a list of other things, so what's the point?
