When is DC going to get a radio station aimed at the still hip over 30 crowd?

Apparently, the announcement will be made on Thursday. The line up is really not looking very promising. At least last year, there were good bands on the street stage. Sigh.

with them not being focused on their music that must be the reason these other stations have jumped passed them in ratings. why would you put eminem on your biggest show of the year? get a band that you actually play! damn, you'd think they could at least get that right. i feel sorry for my buddy that works there. he used to be a fan of the station and he doesn't even listen to them anymore and he works there! yeah, rhett, when are they gonna get a station for the 30+ crowd that actually sounds good?

Line up sucks so far. Except for BRMC & Strokes. Well, guess I'll be saving some money and brain cells this summer.

WRNR in Annapolis (which was started by the guy who originally founded HFS before selling it to the corporation that owns it now) used to be good. Some might argue that it didn't have enough indie rock to keep the hipsters happy, but it did feature alot of stuff that wasn't getting played anywhere else on local radio. But then WRNR was sold to a corporation a couple of year ago, and now all I see on their playlist is mainstream crap like Mick Jagger, Dave Matthews, Natalie Merchant, Train, Elvis Costello, Rusted Root, etc...yuck...and they only play the hit single now where they used to be all over the albums.
Oh well there's still the internet!

Some towns have cool college radio stations that actually play indie music... Maybe this has been discussed before, but what internet radio stations does everyone listen to?

my thoughts exactly stpmatt. i mean, eminem? jesus christ i hate that boy. and goldfinger. when's the last time they played them? 96? by the way, that lineup sucks big time and the only few bands i'm interested in are the aforementioned goldfinger(very good live), unwritten law and papa roach(sue me, p roach has a couple tunes i like and they're a good live band). dammit, we need stone temple pilots or tool or foo fighters. eminem? wtf?

Kurosawa, it should be no surprise to you or anyone else that right now, as ever, I am listening to
virginradio.co.uk
apparently it is the most popular internet radio station in the world, but dont let that put you off.....

They are def. lacking the big names. I thought for sure they would get Korn (since they are touring this summer and are #1 on their most wanted). A very weak line up.
