album recommendations would be awesome, from redsock's first "A" thread:

" Artists that start with A, who should I be listening to, and what albums are important? Some artists are best covered by a Greatest hits album, others have one important album. All genres, all years, assume I know much less than I actually do. Let 'er rip..."

i'd add "porcupine" and the s/t 1987 for echo and the bunnymen, too. they are all pretty great. or you can just get "songs to learn and sing" if you wanna go the greatest hits way.

exploding hearts - guitar romantic (must must must have)

electrelane - no shouts no calls (or axes. or the power out. but you probably only "need" one)

easy star all*stars - radiodread, dub side of the moon
elbow - the seldom seen kid
explosions in the sky - the rescue (which i prefer to "all of a sudden i miss everyone", but ymmv)

... and if you're in to chillout/downtempo/trippy-and-groovy electronica, hunt down some Entheogenic.  amazing stuff.

Erase Errata - Other Animals

The Eternals - Heavy International

ESG - Come Away with ESG, Step Off (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!), A South Bronx Story

Missy Elliott - Under Construction, Miss E...So Addictive, or the Greatest Hits compilation Respect M.E. (honestly, every album of hers is pretty damn good)

No apologies necessary. I'm working on lists a lot bigger than the boadie suggestions. Check back soon to the new and improved http://www.bigyawn.net to follow my progress, and see the full lists come together.

Meanwhile, bring on the E's!! Hoping this letter is much smaller than previous ones.

The E Section in my collection is a bit thin but.

Electronic - Twisted Tenderness the third and probably my favor of the Sumner/Marr collaborations
Electrafixion - Just consider it the heaviest sounding release in the Echo and Bunnymen catalog

Echobelly - Everyone's Got One

Two power pop gems
El Goodo - Goodo
Eugene Edwards - My Favorite Revolution

Egyptian Lover - On The Nile

Roky Erickson - I Have Always Been There Before

No Erasure or Dave Edmunds  picks yet?
T.Rex

FYI, the self-titled Electronic record is flawless in my opinion, as good as anything that New Order ever did. I know that's a bold statement, but it truly has stood the test of time and I still listen to it religiously.

That's it for the E's.

I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that.
