I'm in for Wed.  So how does Dar Compare to Warner??  Very impressed with Warner from the Morrissey show.  Same setting, layout?

Warner may be my favorite venue in town to see a show (depending on the act).
DAR is the worst venue in town, irregardless of who is performing.

I'm in...got a ticket thanks to another awesome boardie...thanks Killsaly! I haven't seen DCFC since they opened for the Dismemberment Plan at the Club in like 2002 maybe? It's been a while...looking forward to this show.

Now I wanna go! I am a member (for not much longer) of their fan club and if I win, I can bring +1, but need a ticket number to reference for the show. Anyone have an extra? Anyone have an extra and wanna put your name in the hat w/ me?
Also, are doors 7? Start 8 pm? Just curious of the overall set times, thanks.

saw the show last night in philly.

rarariot: 7:58 - 8:16.  their very short set was fun.

CWK: 8:35-9:10.  way better than the last time i saw them (was it opening for muse at the patriot center?  i forget).  the missus developed a huge crush on the singer.

DCFC: 9:45 - 11:10'ish.  strong & varied set that fans are sure to enjoy.  played something off every album or just about.  "i will possess your heart" sounded GREAT.  chris walla isn't aging so well and needs longer pants.  ben needs a haircut.  i took a bunch of pix on my cell's crappy-cam, i'll try to post them soon.

I had no problem taking a camera in for Bloc Party a while back.  I took a bazillion pics and nobody said a word.

I am SO happy I went to this show...thanks to Killsaly for the ticket. I have to say that from where we were sitting the sound was pretty excellent, and I'm thrilled about that since DAR is such a crapshoot. Cold War Kids have grown a lot since I saw them a couple of years ago with Tokyo Police Club. I'm assuming they played mostly stuff from "Loyalty to Loyalty"?  As of this week I've essentially ended a relationship-type thing...complications galore, but it was intense as all hell. Some of the best times of my life, but I knew it was never going to work. Again, complications. Hence, Death Cab was the ideal band for me to be seeing right now. Opening with "Marching Bands of Manhattan" really set a tone for me because I love that song. The other highlights for me were definitely "President of What", "Cath", "The Sound of Settling" and of course "I Will Possess Your Heart" really looked and sounded gorgeous. "Transatlanticism" is a nice closer too. I had a terrific time.

yes, excellent show!  Dar isn't as bad as a lot of people made it out to be.  I had an aisle seat which was a little anoying because ushers and people kept walking back and forth.  No problem with the camera or anything.  Was able to get tons of pics and videos.  Got all of I will posses your heart.  Some funny things from the show was there was this guy that sat in a row ahead of me.  When Cold War Kids came on a couple of people in front of him stood up for them.  He first went to one row ahead of him to tell the guy to sit down and then went a few more rows to tell another person to sit down haha.  No one listened of course, classic.

in philly i was surprised at how little they used their light set-up.  they had these LED "light poles" around the stage that they lit up exactly twice - was a waste IMO, they could have been used a lot more effectively.  hopefully they did more with them in DC.

i'd just like to point out that i'm not the only one who thinks DAR can be a perfectly fine venue.  all those people on auto-hate need to open their minds.  maybe it's because it doesn't always sound great that people are up in arms?  in that case blame the sound techs.
