I bailed on kraftwerk... in the end i could not get past the fact i wanted to see dean wareham and a few other issues (only 1 original kraft dude), and my exploding cold, recovery issues......at 7 pm the presumed start time it looked like the line extended around the block.. i even saw seth out there talking to some guy that looked like a press dude.. also saw a kraftwerk crew dude (number 23...germanic organization) who was talking to the 930 staffer about when they were going to get everyone in the building...i decided to take it easy and just go see dean..clearly kraft was going to start late....

but i'm happy with my choice.... wareham soundedd great.. he got a good crowd too.... he played new stuff, galaxie stuff, luna stuff and indian summer... the second encore was ceremony (spectacular)

i hope you all had fun at kraftwerk!

Show started around 7:20 presumably after the line cleared.  Overall, I thought the show in  2005 was better than this one.  And other than opening videos for Robots, Numbers the 3D animation really didn't add a whole lot to the experience.  My favorite bit was extended version of Tour De France and concert ending  Boing Boom Tschak / Techno Pop / Musique Non Stop medley.  Show just seemed tepid overall....

Pretty much agree, although I probably liked the 3D more than you. Good mix of tunes but some of the arrangements were disappointing, especially "Airwaves". Barely any "Metal On Metal" during TEE. Florian obviously meant more to the band than Ralf thought.

I also almost bailed due to illness but loathed to piss away nearly $70 (yeah, I nabbed it on first sale...).

And everybody got a souvenir:

did I leave too early (during music non stop), or did they 'play' pocket calculator?

I just had an MRI. 35 minutes of loud electronic buzzing, and it was done.

Just like a Kraftwerk show, right?

I thought the concert was absolutely spectacular and the balcony was not that crowded. A really unique experience.

This sounds more like a Merzbow show.

Would have like to have heard this in the early show, it was my favorite in the 2005 show.  It being their homage to the Detroit Techno scene.

Remember back in the day when Belle and Sebastian played the club and it sold out immediately and a late show was added and everyone lost their shit because they were certain the late show would be longer? This actually just played out and everyone is being cool about it. When did we all collectively grow up?

It was an awesome show, the sound was superb. Really groovy bass, especially during Numbers.

Just wish it wouldn't have been so crowded. Seth, I'm not sure if the later gig was oversold, but if it was, please don't do that again! The crowd was pretty chatty, too.

Coming from someone who sees shows in Richmond regularly that is saying something...
