that's about the only thing in paper's favor. . .plastic is generally superior in almost every other way.  compostable plastic bags are a joke, since you end up using more of them as they do not have the same strength as regular plastic bags.

but, in my answer to that question, it's paper because san francisco has "outlawed" the use of plastic bags by retail stores.

The whole point of this thread is that both options suck.

Only you would find it necessary to debate the merits of two bad options simply to point out that SF voted to do something you disapprove.
