Concur w/Sweetcell on that one. Id never miss a show at Terminal 5 because of the venue itself. Its def not a favorite place, and I try and avoid it if possible, but the sound is really good there and the people are quite pleasant that work there. Sightlines from the balconies are
great if you get there early enough. Empanada Mama's on the 3rd floor is always reliable.

Shows like The Faint are actually quite good at a venue like that. Their light show was incredible.

I sold my ticket to the show with SY partially because of all the T5 horror stories I've heard.

while T5 isn't a venue i would seek out, i've never had a horrible experience there either - vs. RnR Hotel or every House of Blues that i've ever been to.  it's big, it's cold, it's modern and lacking in character (other than that of "mega-club"), but the sound is above average, there's a rooftop open-air patio, and if you get there early there are some excellent sight-lines to be had from the first balcony.  yes, it's overly polished and you feel like there should be more models around than there actually are... but at least it's not a sh*t-hole with bad sound.

i wouldn't recommend it as a venue, but i wouldn't skip a great line-up just because of it.

You know, I've noticed before that though they are a Baltimore band, it seems that they never play around here. I see them playing shows in all sorts of places but never home area shows.

I saw them play in Baltimore with Grizzly Bear in October of 2007. It was in that church the Ottobar people briefly used for shows.

i've been to three of their dc shows and each time, even when they played with grizzly bear, was pretty barren.

haven't seen them since their last album came out though, but they still play in baltimore quite a bit. they had an outside concert over the summer but whenever they do play, they're using bunched up along side other local bands with no one having top billing.

I saw Beach House this summer in Baltimore - outside the Metro Gallery, along with Celebration.......and a few months before that, they played right down the street from me in Baltimore at the Patterson.    They do play, just not always well advertised.

That must have been the Rufustival which I was thinking they were there. Obviously, I've missed any other announcements of their local shows. Oddly enough for me, considering the 'Gazers tend to love them, they don't do a whole lot for me. Guess that's why I just don't pay much attention to the few announcements they do have.
