i can't recommend this guy highly enough to fans of downtempo, chill, dub, ambient techno, etc (then again, if you're a fan of any of these you probably know who Bluetech is).

not just new yorkers... that show would have put me (and i suspect a sizable number of other folks) on a bus/train/plain/automobile.  darn.

that 2010-2011 "tron tour" can't come soon enough: http://consequenceofsound.net/2009/07/23/daft-punk-to-tour-in-support-of-tron/

Hmm

Getting enough Dino Jr. just is not possible. I sold my ticket to the show with SY partially because of all the T5 horror stories I've heard.

I sold my ticket to the show with SY partially because of all the T5 horror stories I've heard.

while T5 isn't a venue i would seek out, i've never had a horrible experience there either - vs. RnR Hotel or every House of Blues that i've ever been to.  it's big, it's cold, it's modern and lacking in character (other than that of "mega-club"), but the sound is above average, there's a rooftop open-air patio, and if you get there early there are some excellent sight-lines to be had from the first balcony.  yes, it's overly polished and you feel like there should be more models around than there actually are... but at least it's not a sh*t-hole with bad sound.

i wouldn't recommend it as a venue, but i wouldn't skip a great line-up just because of it.
