NICE.  too bad fever ray is same week as U2 in DC & VA.

a few other unique NYC shows worth noting, culled from my calendar:

Sat 5/30 - Moderat (Modeselektor + Apparat), Webster Hall

Tue Jun 30 - Explosions In the Sky, Central Park Summerstage (i have some extra tix i need to sell for this show - PM me if interested)

Green Day
Webster Hall NY May 19

i'm trying to decide between this and Tortured Soul.  i want to see GD do their show in an arena as to see the full stage production (i don't know if they'll have the full set-up at webster hall), but seeing them in a small venue would be cool... TS are a local band so i can probably catch them at a later date, then again this is their album launch and they usually don't headline such a big venue...  thoughts?

Why doesn't he ever come down here?

Green Day
Webster Hall NY May 19

got shut out, but luckily they're about to announce another show on the 18th.  between the fanclub presale and public onsale, i have two more chances to not get tickets!

really you are in the Green Day fan club????

Man, how this board has changed. I remember back a few years ago, i got railed big time  on here cause i went to a Green Day show after winning tickets from the Baltimore City Paper.

yup - because i want the best tickets.  it's not a membership, it's a $20 surcharge to be in the best seats.  that $20 has bought me two additional chances to see them in a small venue, as well as guaranteeing me the best seats for MSG (the band has been hooking up their fanclub big time).  maybe i would have gotten away with it had i called it "a private presale" or some such :)  also, the presale tix will be cheaper than public onsale through TM, so i'm making back a good portion of that $20 anyways.  it's all strategery.

this is what happens when you become a seat snob, kids - don't let it happen to you.

i wouldn't mind seeing them once - and if i'm going to a show, any show, i go all out and get good tickets.  the stage production looks really cool for this tour.  the new album has some OK songs on it that should sound pretty good live.  have you even heard their new album?  lemme guess, you don't need to :P  (fair enough, i make the same judgments too... hangs head in shame)

and remember, i admit to liking all sorts of music that hipsterdom has long since declared to be crap.  i'm quite comfortable with my wide musical tastes, which happen to incorporate some mainstream punk-pop (among other forms of crap :))

righty then, back to announcing NYC shows...
