If anyone has any last minute changes in their plans and ends up with an extra ticket, please let me know.  I've been trying craigslist, but cant find one for under 50 bucks

do NOT pay those stupid prices.  as the date draws nearer you should be able to get a ticket for much, much less than that.  maybe a boardee will have a change of plans and will be able to hook you up for free.  i suspect that the scalpers crawling the parking lot on the day of the show won't be able to ask for much.  and some tickets will be released in the days leading up to the festival (i think people have until Aug 28 to pick up their tickets, otherwise they will be re-released).

Actually on another note, that doesn't look bad. Sprint is helping with Virgin Mobile's economic downfall. But Sprint needs to fix their service before they buy a mobile phone company. I just wonder what it will mean for next years Virgin Mobile festival. But I don't think it will affected as (if it is confirmed) that seth booked a headliner for the 2010 festival.

does this now mean that the band's sound will be going in and out through the speakers depending on where the crowd is standing?

Are you slow or something? He scoffed at the prospect of that in this very thread.

huh?  not sure what you're getting at here.  not only is sprint already a mobile phone company, they've already bought one: nextel.

agreed that they need to improve their coverage - i'm on sprint, and when it works it's great with super-fast data speeds.  but i've got few to no bars in way too many places, like home.

It has no effect on anything festival related now or ever other than possibly the name.  The festival is a Virgin product.  They used the name to advertise the Virgin Mobile service.

bkrome: with no real products to speak of in the US what will Virgin be advertising with the festival in future years?

Only in 2008 and 2009 was it known as Virgin Mobile Festival.  It was simply Virgin Festival in 2006 and 2007.

I got that but with no mobile phone presence, all the megastores closed, barely an airline.... what would Virgin be advertising here in the states?

Isn't sprint already the carrier for virgin mobile?
Seems to me they are only getting the existing customer base and brand...  And surely Seth can pull off a festival with lots of smaller sponsers lined up

Yes, Sprint was already the carrier for Virgin Mobile as well as Boost, which it already owns.  Sprint simply bought it's only competitor to Boost (though it was really a sharing arrangement since VM used Sprint's network).  Sprint now owns all of the Virtual Network Operators in America with Boost and Virgin Mobile, so this isn't really much of a big deal.

And don't forget about Virgin America, the greatest airline on the planet, when discussing Virgin products and services in America.

barely an airline....

I take offense to this.

Los Angeles
Orange County
San Diego
San Francisco
Boston
Las Vegas
New York
Washington, D.C.
Seattle

As soon as they add Chicago and Austin, I'll never have to take another airline to fly in the States again.
