Most of these budget ticketing services seem to not offer hard-stock tickets via mail. Etix doesn't either. I guess that's a big expense they have to cut to remain profitable at the service fees they charge.

I got hard tickets for the Phoenix show along with a nifty fridge magnet holder for them.

We offer hard tickets too, and most of our venues choose to do so.

Black Cat really wanted to keep the convenience fee as low as possible. With hard tickets we have to cover the cost of a $0.44 stamp. Print-At-Home and Will Call don't incur any other charges.

They chose to just offer will call and Print-At-Home to keep the costs down even more.

You can buy hard tickets from Black Cat's box office. If you order online or by phone, you can select Print-At-Home tickets and print them out. Black Cat will have hand held scanners to verify tickets at the door.

Thank you for clarifying that.  I still prefer to buy my tix at the box office before the show, and it's good to know that I can continue to do so.

I have a question for TicketAlternative: what do you think is IMP's motivation to remain with tickets.com and ticketmaster and continue to subject their patrons to those companies' ticketing fees when cheaper alternatives exist?

take this to the black cat or ticket alternative web forum, please.  an announcement is one thing.  advertising from the company rep and q & a belong somewhere else.

really?  But TaxLo can advertise? and other DJs playing at other venues?  Perhaps there should be some guidelines for this forum that say no advertising?  This clearly wasn't spam and wasn't abusive...

3 hours and 4 minutes! Who had 3:04 in the "how long after my comment until the thread gets shut down" pool?

But seriously, I don't get why their post saying "if you have any further questions, please direct them to our site" got deleted. If anything, they were being respectful and trying to get the cross-chatter off this site's messageboard.

a contract?  who knows how long IMP has a contract with tickets.com and tm.

It would be an interesting answer for Seth to answer. If he's under a contract, whether or not he'd consider a switch when its up. I would be interested in hearing a venue owner and promoters perspective on the pros and cons of various ticketing agencies.

Thank you for the link, but it doesn't really answer the question raised. Interesting, tho.
