Fuck yes.

Now all three people on this board who'd give a shit about this can rejoice.

New album from Rick Bishop/Chris Corsano/Ben Chasny's yet unnamed band. If there was ever a supergroup that's not destined to fail, this is it.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
is set to release their fifth studio album, Beat The Devil's Tattoo, on March 8th (UK/Europe/Japan/Australia et al), March 9th (US/Canada) and March 16th (Germay). This release signifis the band's first full-length on their own Abstract Dragon label, in partnership with Vagrant Records and Co-Op Music Group. The band wrote and recorded most of the album at The Basement Studio in Philadelphia, PA - the same room where they wrote and recorded "Howl" as well as some work in their hometown Los Angeles. Beat The Devil's Tattoo also marks the first album with drummer Leah Shapiro.

What I've heard in the last week...
Hot Chip: first half is solid, 2nd half was unlistenable to me.

Silver Mt. Zion: very Spiritualizedish as odd as that sounds. Nice listen.

Pantha Du Prince: Good background music. Not much more.

Jack Rose: beautiful album front to back. Hard to listen to and not think about the inevitable success for which he was bound. :(

Retribution Gospel Choir: strong effort. Mostly a straight-up rocker of an album. About as far from Low as can be (don't get me wrong; I very much enjoy me some Low).

Owen Pallett: listened to roughly the first half last night; very pleasant. More use of electronic instruments on this album than the previous two.

A New RGC album?  Must get as soon as I get back to the East Coast.

And yeah, they are not Low, but i still dig them.

The guitars on it make it sound like it was produced by J Mascis.
